Safety & Supervision

Learn how Safari RVA prioritizes camper safety through trained supervision, clear protocols, and transparent communication with families.

At Safari RVA, the safety and well-being of every camper is our top priority. Campers are always under the care of trained, attentive adults who are prepared to support both everyday activities and unexpected situations in outdoor environments.

A licensed and insured camp leader is present with campers at all times. The camp leader is Lifeguard Certified and Wilderness First Aid Certified, with CPR and standard First Aid forming the foundation of both certifications. During regular camp hours, children are supervised by the camp leader and at least one additional adult, who is also CPR and First Aid certified.

Assistant leads are identified well in advance of each camp session. Information about these staff members will be shared with parents prior to camp to ensure transparency and peace of mind.

If families opt into aftercare hours or pickup and dropoff services, supervision during those times will be provided by the camp leader alone. For added accountability, all car rides are video recorded, and aftercare always takes place in a public park setting.

As with any outdoor summer camp, participation involves active play and exploration. Families will be asked to complete a standard safety and liability release prior to camp, acknowledging the nature of outdoor activities and allowing campers to fully engage in hands-on experiences while under responsible supervision.

Our goal is to create a camp environment where kids feel safe, supported, and confident—so they can focus on exploring, learning, and enjoying summer.
